When our time has passed, everything we leave behind is left for future generations, especially when it comes to the planet. That’s where the Earth Guardians come in, thousands of youth leaders and activists on the front lines of sustainability. They’re working to drive action and culture shifts towards a more regenerative future.
The Guardians train young people to become influential leaders within the intersections of climate and environmental justice. Through storytelling, art, civic engagement, legal action, and on-the-ground projects, they advance solutions that address the vital issues we face as a global community.
The Earth Guardians are empowered to act and take the stands necessary to make the changes needed for a better tomorrow. Regional Directors host monthly crew calls so that all the information between the Core Team and the crews flows clearly. They make sure all members have what they need to move forward.
Youth speakers represent the voice and vision as a whole. A rigorous selection process allows the Guardians organization to bring forth the most powerful and inspirational speakers from within their global community.
Earth Guardians have a youth council that acts as the decision-making body to guide programs and projects. The council works to amplify branding, projects, initiative, curriculum, and partner campaigns. The youth council ensures the representation of the youth’s voice in the realization of the greater mission to build a healthy and sustainable world.
The Guardians’ Indigenous Youth Committee is comprised of eight Indigenous youth leaders who come from native nations. Based on the youth’s experience, and the current environmental justice work in their communities, the Indigenous Youth Committee organizes the focus, facilitators, locations, and training schedule around cultural resilience and environmental justice. The team only serves as core visionaries in the planning process. However, they help with logistics on the ground as well. They’re responsible for weekly group calls to aid in organizing the initiative and aid in fundraising.
The team makes it possible for Earth Guardians to do what they do best. That includes everything from campaign support to project management. The team works behind the scenes to help make the “movement move.” In this critical moment of history where power lies in numbers and strength in alliances, the community defines the core of Earth Guardians. They’re characterized by how they all respect, work with and honor their partners. The Earth Guardians partner with organizations and businesses to help create awareness and strengthen the environmental and climate justice movements at large.
A quick visit to the Earth Guardians website can lead you to their posted impact reports. In 2021, the Earth Guardians expanded and built up their climate justice programming, and expanded their international youth program on the ground.
The Earth Guardians are educating themselves, as well as others, about the issues we ALL face on this planet. So many things should be and could be done to improve the planet’s health, and they’re here to teach how to improve things moving forward. I love that they take the time to step up to the plate for a better tomorrow, not only for themselves but for everyone.
